This year we decided we would take David to go see the imagination movers live in concert. They were in town a few weekends ago and played at the Verizon center here in Houston. He has enjoyed watching their show on the Disney channel for the past year so we figured he would be excited to see them live, which he was! He loves their music and enjoys pretending like he is playing the instruments along with them; we even have the opening song memorized so this really was a big deal! We got lucky and had isle seats which were great because several of the band members would come out into the audience throughout the show. He got to see many of his favorites up close in person and even got a pat on the head by Smitty! So once again my mommy pregnancy hormones kicked in and I teared up. Something about seeing the pure joy and excitement in your child's eyes...unforgettable!

Cancun 2011
A few weeks back Dave and I escaped the abnormal 20 degree Houston weather for sunny 82 degree weather in Cancun, Mexico. We were there to celebrate my hubby's 5th consecutive award winning year with his company. Although different from previous years (I was not sipping margaritas and mojitos on the beach all day this go around), I did enjoy a little r&r and much needed break from chasing an almost three year old around all day. I am so proud and grateful to have such an amazing husband. Good job, honey!
My options for excursions were very limited this year due to the pregnancy. They would not let me schedule a massage....boo; so in replace of this Dave and I took a cooking class. Surprisingly, it was quite fun. We cooked three dishes; Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry with Peanut Noodles, Moussaka: Eggplant Casserole, and Seared Salmon with Beet Risotto, Sauteed Spinach, Wild mushrooms and a Beet and Carrot Micro-Green Salad with Carrot Sauce (pictured). I would have to say the salmon was my favorite, but all three turned out great. The only thing missing was dessert!
Afterwards we enjoyed some afternoon time on the beach and then dinner with the Houston office at one of our favorite spots, Puerto Madero.

On Tuesday we took the opportunity to sleep in and order room service. I have a feeling this is something that we will not be enjoying again anytime soon with two little ones on the way and a toddler that wakes up at 6 am everyday like clock work! We took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent most of our day out on the beach. That night we ventured out to a new restaurant in Cancun and enjoyed each others company minus a busy toddler!
Dave golfed on Wednesday while I enjoyed the warm weather and a facial. We were booked on the 7 am flight the next morning, so we took it easy and enjoyed a fabulous dinner just the two of us at Ruth Chris's. It was actually our best meal of the week and it was so nice just to have some more quality time together before heading home.
David did so well this go around with mommy and daddy being gone. He is getting so good at talking on the phone and it was so nice to have daily conversations with him, which did not consist of much but enough to make mommy and daddy smile! Thank you grandma and grandpa for taking care of our little man while we enjoyed our celebratory trip or I guess you can also call it our free babymoon. Get ready for three next year......wink, wink!!
As usual, we spent the majority of the first day traveling. I am not one to catch a 5:30 am flight just to get there before noon! Once we were settled in we attended company break out meetings and dinner. The weather cooperated this year and we were able to spend some of the evening outside enjoying the food and company of other couples around the country who we have not seen since last years trip!
